Mensaje de SPCA-Global Animal Rescue

SPCAIExecutive Director Meredith Ayan in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after a successful adoption event with local partner organizations Oito Vidas and Indefesos.

Dear marianela,
Throughout 2016 I wrote to you time and time again relaying urgent information about animals in need of rescue and rehabilitation. Each time, hundreds of supporters answered my call with an outpouring of generosity for our cause. Thanks to those contributions, we were able to surpass our goals month after month. Our 2016 achievements are outstanding:
  • We increased grant distributions to animal shelters by 31%.
  • We broke our spay and neuter record in Panama.
  • We exceeded our goal for veterinary supply aid distribution - sending pain relief, antibiotics and other critical supplies to almost every continent.
  • We helped homeless dogs and cats in Brazil ahead of the Summer Olympic Games. Including amassive trap, neuter and release program that is still ongoing.
  • We aided the development of a groundbreaking educational facility in Spain dedicated to ending the abuse and torture of Spanish Greyhounds.
  • We reunited 60 military pets with the brave U.S. military members they love – a 17% increase in rescues over 2015.
  • And, we helped 319 military families keep their pets by their side – with a 14% increase in financial aid.
Today, as we simultaneously reflect and look to the future, I am deeply grateful for your support because none of this would have been possible without you. I promise you that in 2017 SPCA International will continue to meet and exceed our goals. Together we will make the world a kinder place for animals, reflective of our values and unending hard work.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a critical part of our team. I look forward to working with you in this bright new year.

With my deepest gratitude,
Meredith Ayan
Executive Director
