Dear marianela,

The Karnala Bird Sanctuary in Mumbai is home to more than 147 species of birds, including 37 endangered varieties. But a proposed factory is putting the animals who live at the sanctuary in grave danger.

The factory's expulsion of sulphur dioxide and hydrogen sulphide would have devastating effects on the birds' health and cause acid rain, which would harm the birds' environment and food supply.

If such a factory must be built, it should be located in a place that won't devastate wildlife to such an extreme degree.

Please sign the petition to urge the Bombay National History Society and the Wildlife Board of India to support the Karnala Bird Sanctuary and stand against plans to build a polluting factory nearby!
