Sir Paul McCartney speaks out against animal testing for cosmetics
Join Sir Paul McCartney in helping to end animal testing for cosmetics forever!

We are delighted to announce that former Beatle and long-time BUAV supporter, Sir Paul McCartney, has praised our work in securing an animal testing ban for cosmetics in the European Union.  Sir Paul is now supporting Cruelty Free International in appealing to countries across the world to end cosmetics tests on animals forever.

Sir Paul McCartney said: 'I have supported Cruelty Free International's founding organization, the BUAV over the years with its campaign to end cosmetics testing on animals. I am so proud to be part of this historic event and congratulate Cruelty Free International for succeeding in taking the cruelty out of beauty across the European Union. Together we have made a huge difference, yet animals continue to suffer because over 80% of the world still allows cosmetics testing on animals. I am now supporting Cruelty Free International with its campaign to seek a global ban to ensure that animals do not suffer for the sake of beauty anywhere in the world.'

Shockingly, over 80% of the world still allows animals to be used in unnecessary and cruel experiments for beauty products.

Here are three easy things you can do to help:

-
Sign and share our global pledge to end animal testing for cosmetics worldwide.

- Join the Cruelty Free International community on Facebook and Twitter.

- Give a gift to help end animal testing for cosmetics forever.

With your support, we are taking our message to governments and regulators around the globe to end this unnecessary animal suffering forever.

Our U.S. campaign gains pace

Cruelty Free International Chief Executive, Michelle Thew, has today given a keynote speech at the North American Sustainable Cosmetics Summit in New York. This event, which is one of a series of international summits encouraging sustainability in the beauty industry, provides an important opportunity to deliver our message at a high-level platform where major issues are debated. Joining key stake-holders and leading organisations in the beauty industry, Michelle highlighted the global trends in ending animal testing for cosmetics and made the case for the use of alternatives.

This keynote speech follows a recent presentation that Dr Nick Palmer, our Director of Policy, delivered at the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) hearings on US policy in cosmetics regulation last week. With our success in achieving a ban on animal testing for cosmetics in the European Union in March, we are urging the FDA to follow Europe's lead and do the right thing for animals and consumers by mandating non-animal methods for cosmetics and banning animal testing for cosmetics and personal care products and ingredients.
