Zak and Mika -- two baby harp seals living at a Quebec aquarium -- will be executed this Saturday as tourist season ends unless we act now.
Dear marianela,
This Saturday, Zak and Mika -- two captive baby harp seals -- will be summarily executed. Why? Because the aquarium they call home doesn't need them to bring in tourist dollars anymore.
Tell the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans to stay the execution and release these seals back into the wild.
Zak and Mika are just six months old. They were captured as newborns by Canada's Department of Fisheries and Oceans to help draw tourists to the Aquarium des Iles in Quebec. Under this arragement the seals cannot be released back into the wild after tourist season. Instead they'll be killed in the name of "research."
There is simply no reason that these baby seals need to die. Tourist season ends September 15 -- this Saturday. So we need to act right now if we're going to save Zak and Mika.
Sign today and save two baby harp seals from an unnecessary early death.
